- Sun shone - Three days of sunshine had lots of Sylvan Lakers and visitors smiling as they enjoyed the August long weekend. On Monday afternoon the provincial park was as crowded as it had been all weekend with sun worshippers soaking up the rays, children cavorting in the lake and others relaxing on inflatable toys while feet dangled in the cooling liquid. The smells of deliciously barbecued food wafted through the air and picnickers took advantage of the holiday to enjoy a day at the beach. Temperatures were in the mid to high 20s all three days
