- Sandra's uncle, Weldon Curran, from Stillwater, Oklahoma took all these pictures of Sylvan Lake when he visited over the years; he was a great photographer.

- This hotel was originally built in 1910 in Suffield, Alberta and was called "The Alamo"
- In 1927, it was moved overland to Sylvan Lake to replace the old Sylvan Lake (Hazelwood) Hotel which had burned down
