- Caption "First Home" by Miss Brown
- Cover Illustration: About 1890, when Miss Brown visited her brother Osborne Brown, she painted this view of his first home. It was located in the Glenmore district, just south of the Town of Calgary. Based upon a photograph by W.H. Boorne, it shows the pioneer outside his cabin.
