This is an aerial view of the town of Sylvan Lake

The old curling rink and the outdoor skating rink can be seen in the centre of the picture (on the present site of the RCMP Building)

The barn shaped building across the street is a house - note the outdoor toilets in the back yards

There was no water system in town until the 1970s
